Hello all,
I think we're all frustrated. Looking back, I feel that the French youth riots of 2005 and Greek riots of 2010 had serious potential. It was a classic example of the youth (my generation) being pissed off at being slaves to capital, and pursuing change. A mentor of mine told me that no substantial change in history has ever occurred by following the rules.
But you look at the situations in France and Greece today, and it seems what originally started as Marxist, anti-capitalist protests have quickly swung in favor of fascism and extreme ring-wing ideology. How did this happen? Shouldn't Europe, with it's high youth unemployment and young generation of immigrants, be fertile soil for our message?
And my final question: How can we use this fertile soil? Will it literally take missionary-like work, where all of us like minded young people will choose a location in Europe to get the ball rolling? I think this would be a beautiful thing, if possible. Maybe I'm just ranting here. Opinions are appreciated.
