so many of those folks in that video are unbelievably lucky not to have been seriously injured, also note they didn't have spotters, none of them

Crossfit askes people to exercise like beasts with little to no training. Thats why people get hurt. They jump into any exercise imaginable without thinking about safety or practice.

If you want to get fit work hard at something and learn how to do it right.

True story, beyond belief. There was tabata group doing weird shit on this hill where I train so I went to another part of the hill. Some of them had crossfit shirts. They eventually invaded the entire hill area but as I passed them, one at a time, in single file, they said, 'hey friend', 'hey friend', 'hey friend', etc..

That is totally weird. Do you think it's a cult?

I was going to do Crossfit, but then I realized that it doesn't seem like something you can start off doing. I do a lot of walking and eat healthy. I used to do more lifting, but I haven't in a while. It would take me a minute to get back up to where I was at. When I was lifting, I had started late in life as well. So it's not the same as someone who has been exercising their whole life. It does take hard work and determination.

Yeah! She was totally roaring. I couldn't help but crack up at that. LMAO.

Here's what you need to know...

• CrossFit has done an incredibly good job at popularizing tough training using barbells.
• CrossFit is fine "Exercise" but it's not "Training". The undoubtedly impressive CrossFit Games athletes don't use CrossFit programming.
• There are good and bad CrossFit coaches, but the certification farm CrossFit has become often produces more bad than good.

What is Crossfit? What does Bro Science has to say about it:

And as you can see, Crossfit is included in the Bro Science chart of not-lifting:

I couldn't care less what bro science has to say about it. I like it and it gives me a good work out and that's what matters to me.

I don't know much about Crossfit, but from what I've heard it sounds like another health fad so I'm skeptical. Is it more or less expensive than gym membership? Does anywhere do those free taster lessons? You could go along for one class and see whether it's what you're looking for.

Do ballet. Seriously, those people have muscles!

Lots of squats and deadlifts in the various WoDs. Lots of other stuff too. I still go to the gym as well

Crossfit has done more good than bad. It brought a tonne of stuff back to the mainstream, gymnastic rings, olympic lifts, plyometrics, the powerlifts, mobility work.

The problem is any idiot can open a crossfit gym and this usually results in injuries galore. Youa re better off joining a powerlifting/olympic weightlifting gym and doing some conditioning. Still, crossfit facilities have awesome equipment, platforms, gymnastic equipment worth thousands, good bumpers, I had a friend who joined and simply used it as an open gym and did his own programming.
