Hundreds killed in Hajj stampede

Nearly 250 people are trampled to death near Mecca during the annual Muslim pilgrimage, Saudi officials say.

The reason they got trampled to death, was so they could go throw rocks at another rock(a pillar)? :blink: :unsure: :ph34r:

Other than that they are perfectly sane human beings.

It's a great shame.

The whole thing with the throwing the rocks at the pillar's supposed to be symbolic. Apparently it represents Jinn (the Devil). At that stage of their Hajj, Muslims get a bit fanatical, still, it seems odd to me that 250 were trampled to death largely unnoticed.

Organized religion kills.
Islam kills, Christianity kills, Judaism kills, Hinduism kills.....

There's never been anything else in human history that's amased a body count even comparable to organized religion's.
And yet still is survives.....

this unfortunately happens every time pilgrims go to perform hajj. however it is meant to be one of the best places for a muslim to die.
