What is "New Democracy"?

In Maoist terms, New Democracy is a method of class collaboration - between the proletariat, the peasants, the petite bourgeoisie and capitalists - guided by the Communist Party aiming to overthrow feudalism and achieve independence from colonialism, with a view to establishing communism despite the conflict between these classes - after the establishment of a 'new democratic order'.

(I was going to link the relevant Wikipedia page here, but as I've less than 25 posts, I can't. But of course you'll be able to find that yourself!)

Unfortunately, 'New Democracy' is also a centre-right party in Greece!

The highly stagist theory of Maoism considered as first task in the Chinese revolution a new-democratic one. The political power would be shared by the national revolutionary bourgeoisie and the proletariat, against imperialism. According to Mao, China was a colonial and semi-colonial country.

In one word: a dictatorship of all anti-imperialist forces led by the proletariat. EDIT: also, nationalization and agrarian reform.

I'd recommend you to search for Mao's writings on MIA for more in-depth analysis, it's been forever since I read Mao...

From my understanding, it was Mao's belief that class struggle will never go away under a revolutionary workers' state. And he basically said and expected that there would always be bourgeois elements within the party itself. Perhaps that's why China was a bourgeois state under him and why China is now a thriving capitalist nation.

How does Maoist stage-ist thought compare to the Leninist form?

How does Maoist stage-ist thought compare to the Leninist form?

According to Lenin, all forms of bourgeoise, anti-imperialist or imperialist, would be disenfranchised from the state, and the government would be run through a system of worker's councils and elected delegates representing the interests of numerous worker's parties. However, even Lenin didn't carry that out. Although I do like Lenin, he screwed up a lot when he was in power.
