[EmergencyResponseforUSAttackonIranorSyria] Against attacks on Palestinians...Demonstrate Sunday at 3, Tribune Tower
Demonstration against attacks on Palestinians,
Sunday at 3, Tribune Tower Plaza,
N. Michigan Avenue, north of the river, east side of the street
Collective Punishment is a Crime!
Support Palestinian Resistance and Hunger Strikers!
Human Rights Now!
Widespread resistance is continues in Palestine in response to the
U.S.-backed mass arrests, indefinite detention and barbaric bombing raids by Israel.
The Israelis unleashed this latest crime of collective punishment, mainly targeting Gaza but also in the West Bank. Israeli forces have
also arrested more than 700 Palestinians without evidence, putting more than 200 in indefinite detention without charges, including teenagers. There have also been many home demolitions and now the repeated bombing raids in Gaza.
Palestinians are rejecting this latest repression and uniting to say Enough! They are demanding an end to the U.S.-Israeli crimes, affirming their right to resist and carrying forward their fight to End the Occupation and Free Free Palestine! Thousands have demonstrated and clashed with Israeli police. Thousands have now demonstrated in Chicago and across the U.S. and in other countries around the world.
In addition Palestinian hunger strikers, many on strike for more than two months are demanding an end to indefinite detention, often for years with no charges, much like Guantánamo and the solitary confinement of U.S. prisoners. Despite every effort to humiliate and break them, they remain firm. As one said, “My determination reaches the furthest point of the sky.”
Reading the reports of the Israeli actions and brutality, one cannot help but see the resemblance to police actions and brutality in the U.S. against African American youth and prisoners. Profiling, unjust arrests and beatings occur, all done illegally and with no punishment of those responsible, here and in Palestine. For all standing against collective punishment and for human rights, here and in Palestine, join in demanding:
Human Rights Now!
End Collective Punishment!
Stop the Bombing!
End All Aid to Israel!
Defend the Rights of All Abroad and at Home!
