Have you noticed that some capitalists criticise socialism because there was a German Political movement called the National Socialists? Or a Fascist country called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

now there's some nasty people who use the name "Democracy" in their names and aren't really.

National Democrats
German Democratic Republic
Democratic Republic of Korea
Democratic Republic of the Congo

Now do you hear any of them say that Democracy is evil because a few places/people who were really quite nasty claimed to be democratic?

It's not in the name you know.

I think the only one who bothers with stupid semantical arguments are you blokes. Personally, I find it ironic that those nations with "democratic" in their names were all socialist. Including Congo ruled by Laurent Kabila, a compatriot of Che.

You're not too clever.

or you don't know much about UK politics.

The National Democrats are not socialists.

Anyway, that's the whole point, you think that something that has a name is by definition that political ideology.

But would it be capitalism if someone built "The Union of Capitalist Republics" and managed to kill about 500 million people as "political enemies"?

The National Democrats are basically the British version of the Nazi party.

Actually I believe the official name for Nazi Germany was something like the German Peoples Democratic Republic or something along those lines.

And yes the National Democrats are one of the 3 main nazi parties along with the BNP and The National Front.

The one thing that really sticks in my mind about Marx was that always went behind names and statements
to class interests. In so far as parties act especially when there is a war or a crisis, their true nature shall be truly revealed

really? man, what is a simple arse minded person like me supposed to think? now in america i keep hearing the word "capital socialism". something is not right here and i know its not me. i was at a gun show the other day, (btw steven tyler was there too, whoopty doo!) and there was a banner that read "a democrat never met a communists he didnt like" (go figure). as long as we live in a messed up world that oppresses and exploits man, (take the EZLN for example) (but who knows i hear Fox is out to get all guerilla groups, but who are the EZLN?) i dont care what you call me i will continue to seek out a path and purpose for this vapor of a life we call existance. and if i can come to my own realization (not yours) about who i am and where i fit in, you can speak all your facts (not mine) all you want. of course i will listen, im actually here to learn, too. but i decide what i will take in and then hopefully i wont take you out in the process. :)

no the D in NSDAP did/does not stand for Democratic.
it stands for "Deutsch" (German).

the full name would be something like:
National Socialist German Workers Party

I suppose.
