A lot of people on this forum, particularly US comrades, seem to post articles from the Daily Mail, occasionally, without any real understanding of what type of people compose of the readership and the architects of the news group. Recently allegations have emerged revealing that Daily Mail researchers/writers have been going on Muslim forums in an attempt to entrap members of the British Muslim community supporting terrorism. This paper is absolute trash, don't read any of it. Here's a picture of the exchange:

Wow, but these low tactics shouldn't be surprising from the dailymail.

Read about this and was disgusted but not altogether surprised. Hate that fucking rag, one of the reasons I don't read the Metro free paper on the bus or tube or anywhere it gets handed out.
My neighbour at work reads the Daily Mail every day...says he's a socialist (typical scouse Labour voter in his views and ideas) but reads the DM to 'know his enemy'. Wish he didn't, at least not next to me, even the headlines set my teeth on edge.

Wow, this is really dumb. Everyone and their brother knows that all the cool jihadists hang out on Hanein.

I hadn't heard about this. This paper (along with a few others) is disgusting and I don't believe for one minute that the stories it produces are harmless. Their hateful so-called articles are the only exposure a lot of people have to politics. It's not surprising that there's so much racism in Britain.

I haven't really seen many people post it here, and when they do there's usually an inevitable comment pointing out that it's a tabloid and its politics are terrible.

In other places though, this is the case. I've seen people even stateside post articles from the Sun or Daily Mail on my Facebook feed, and I'm from the United States. British tabloids seem to get more traction here than domestic ones, or what few are left at least.

I have a hard time believing the DM, or one of their journalists, is that stupid. His post sounds like a parody of someone pretending to be an extremist muslim. "evil country" "evil west" "muslim sharia law" + the stereotypical broken English.

The daily mail is basically the distilled form of all the nastiest most vitriolic right wing truisms that float around in the seediest parts of the popular subconscious.

It's basically a noticeboard of all the nasty divide and rule tactics that upper class right wingers encourage, middle class reformists turn a blind eye to, and more of the working class than anyone likes to believe fall for. In other words you can look at everything thats wrong with the attitudes of any given era and find it being supported in the daily mail.
(they also do a fairly profitable sideline in "Princess Diana CultTM" merchandise)
