View Full Version : Report From The Refuseniks Demonstration

il Commie
31st January 2004, 18:41
We were few dozens of people, mainly the refuseniks' families. We climbed alittle on the mountain infront of Prison #6 (where the refuseniks are impirsoned) and yelled "way to go!" to the refuseniks in the speakers. We flew baloons for Bahat's and Matar's (two of the refuseniks) birthday and some even sang "happy birthday dear Noam and Haggai..." in the speakers (not a very good singing, btw). We carried big banners saying "we are all occupation refuseniks" and "there's a limit!". The refuseniks waved to us from the prison.

"The prisoners of Prison #6 should be released", was said on the speakers, "except the war criminals, they should be in prison and not in the goverment".

I sold about 10 copies of the israeli's YCL paper ('Spartacus'). Another activist there was from the Da'am party (the smaller communist party in Israel) and she too sold papers. A red flag was raised by some demonstrators.

It was a nice demonstration, though we've seen bigger. In January 10th for example.
