So, for those familiar with the concept the title will probably speak for itself. For those of you who've never heard of it I'll link you to the wikipedia article and a couple of examples in the form of Youtube videos.

Basically, according to the idea of asmr, certain stimuli cause an involuntary sensory response as well as relaxation in the person experiencing them. These stimuli can really be anything, from certain sights to olfactory experiences but the most common ones said to cause reactions are auditory stimuli such as the crinkling of plastic. The sensory response usually manifests in the form of a tingling or ticklish feeling in the back, head or scalp. There is currently no real scientific proof that this is actually a thing. Yet it has sprouted a significant cult following, as you can tell from the videos.
What do you guys think about this? Is this stuff to be studied by biologists, is it nonsense, is it related to people making subconscious connections with past experiences?
I'm posting this because I experience the sensations myself. Mostly in response to people eating for some reason:laugh:.
