He's probably right. I doubt the U.S. plotting of his death ever actually stopped. We can only hope that such dispicable plans never succeed.

77.

That Cuban exile site is such an abomination. They don't even try to hide biasness, everything is true, no matter how ridicolous. Everyone of the guerilla groups Castro has funded are terrorist, despite them fighting against brutal regimes.

It says that the Bush addministration denies the claims, but it's not as if they are going to say, "yes its our intension to assasinate Fidel."

..and when they have assasinated him they will either blame it on somebody else, or they'll just say it was for the best interest of both parts.. <_<

Castro may only be 77, but don't forget the number of cigars he's smoked over the years. :redstar2000:

Hahahaha oh yah, my friend is bringing me back a box of the same cigars Fidel smokes (or he said it was the same brand). But if you look at Fidel, he looks in resonably good shape. My have a little gut, but who's doesn't at 77? Hell, most people have them at 25-30. I think Fidel has adleast another 5-10 years ahead of him.

That's definetly how I've seen it portrayed. My parents were chuckling about it, almost blatantly saying that "my" Fidel is going a little out of his mind, thinking that America is trying to kill him.
The way this has been reported has been very biased. The reporters have left out the fact that declassified documents show that America has attempted to kill Castro. It's very very likely that they're still trying.

Didn't America hire a bunch of people to try and assassinate Castro? I don't know where I heard that. And didn't Castro actually survive a few attempts? I might be mixing my info with Hitler, now I know he survived an assassination attempt.

I don't know if America actually acted on any of their plans, as far as I know they haven't. But look up Operation Mongoose, the code name for the Kennedy administration's plans for assassinating Castro.

Some of them were pretty strange...

Actually, if you want to read about Operation Mongoose and acts like it, which are much more than assassination attemps, an easier to read demonstration is here: http://members.aol.com/bblum6/cuba.htm

:o ...

All these bobmings and what not and the U$ have the cheek to say they condem terrorist activies. And they wonder why people don't like them.

Yes there is relatively well documented evidence of assination attempts planned against Castro, much of it can be found through researching the rediculously inefectual Sante Committee hearings. If your city has auniversity you can find hundreds of books on the crimes of the U.S. intelligence agencies, either in the social sciences, or Law libraries.

Look at Winston Churchill 1874-1965. Pretty old with all those cigars he smoked all the way to his death.
