I'm an Irish Republican who is slowly but surely devoloping his Socialist politics, or at least attempting to do so. I'm currently trying to read as much as I can, and discuss such issues with like minded people. So, I signed up here. That's about it... let's see how this goes!

You are correct in your presumption. I'm leaning towards éirígí. I also have a lot of time and respect for the IRSP, but I feel éirígí have more potential for growth, and they seem to be more active. That's my reading of the situation, at least.

The left in my area is pretty much made of trendy lefties (the SWP, Socialist Party and such - the groups who shout about imperialism all over the world, yet ignore it in their own country). I could sit around complaining about this, but instead I've decided to try and help set up a group I support in my area. (I think the Communist Party of Ireland have a small presence around here too).

Be prepared for lots of questions then! And bear in mind I'm still getting familiar with many of the details of Socialism and all that goes with it :unsure:
