In your opinion which of the following are the most influential marxist thinkers/leaders (excluding Lenin) that have made modern Marx theory:confused:

(I've excluded Lenin since he has already shaped so much in modern theory)

The practice of working class struggles through the decades (including uprisings dismissed as reactionary by certain 'communists') has offered more valuable lessons than any of the 'thinkers' mentioned.

I would think that Chávez would be influential only in a movement that aspired to lead a country to 50% or greater annual inflation, which, from what I read, seems to be an enduring legacy of chavismo in Venezuela. If I remember correctly, Chávez was in power for nearly fifteen years, without ever nationalizing the means of production.

Kim Il Sung, obviously

My question is, do all "neo-Marxists" have a healthy sense of humor like BIAZED? :)

In the sense of *who had the greatest effect on history impacting the greatest number of people* rather than "who is the best" or some such thing, I think the answer is easily Stalin. The Soviet defeat of Germany and Japan radically shaped and altered geopolitics. Another leader in the Soviet Union could have done it had they been in power at the time, but, among actual leaders, he was the most influential. Mao was influential simply for reshaping chinese and east asian history but Stalin contributed some to that also - the other figures had nothing like their influence.

I like Castro and Guevara and Chavez better than Mao or Stalin, but they just don't come close to their impact.

Other: Kim Jong Il. He wrote lots of stuff and made Best Korea what it is today. Juche is the logical evolution of theories of Marx.
