How about the capitalist, foreign aid gravy train?

to me, this is like a neo-colonialism/neo-lib attack on the developing world.

OK, in dire situations, humanitarian aid can be a good thing, but the whole package of enablement etc.. and making other countries dependent on the West - it should be stopped right, unless the foreign country is some kind of Socialist ally etc..

thoughts?

I agree with you. With a profit motive, even dire situations are exploited and much needed aid is intentionally and incidentally diverted into suit pockets.

And reading specific accounts is infuriating. See what is going on with USAID in Haiti if you want to piss blood out of anger.

It's the most backhanded bull shit ever. Not only are the biggest aid packages given by the countries that are responsible for the condition of these countries through decades, and in Africa's case centuries, of imperialism and colonialism. Not to mention that the IMF gives aid on the condition of capital market liberalization and investing the money into western financial institutions and currency, rather than being using the money to improve condition. And even more despicable are all of these private charities that only give a portion, if that, to the cause it claims to to be relieving. YOU CAN NOT SOLVE THE HORRORS CREATED BY PRIVATE PROPERTY WITH PRIVATE PROPERTY.

yep, and of course it's a great way for the libs/cons to feel good about themselves, and continue the exploitation - a little like Welfare back home methinks......
