Brandon's Impotent Rage

From The Daily Beast: (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/06/03/exclusive-chiquita-is-blocking-a-9-11-victims-bill.html)
So currenty, there is this bill in the U.S. Congress called the JASTA (Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act). It's primarily backed by family members of the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Basically, it would make it legal to sue any group that aided and abetted terrorists, be they corporate or otherwise.
I'll admit that the language seems kinda vague, but that's not the point of this post. This is:
There's only one group openly opposing the legislation, and that's Chiquita Banana. Why? Because Chiquita Banana is infamous for funding right-wing terrorists.
And so far, they've succeeded.
Anyone who is familiar with history knows that Chiquita Banana and its fellow fruit corporations pretty much rule much of Central and South America by proxy. They have funded right-wing terrorists and petty dictators and have orchestrated coups against democratically elected leaders whom they deemed a risk to their profits (many times assisted by the American government). Chiquita Banana in particular is infamous for its operations in Columbia, where it funded the AUC right-wing paramilitary group.
Of course, Chiquita claims they were 'victims of extortion' by AUC and similar groups and that's why they're sooooo concerned about this legislation. That, obviously, is a load of horse shit. Chiquita Banana and its predeccesor, United Fruit, paid money out the ass in order to oppress and exploit the workers of Central and South America. As did their fellow fruit companies. Hell, they STILL continue to do this! They even have a GOP scumbag politician in their pocket, Bob Goodlatte, who isn't even trying to hide the fact that he's getting kickbacks from Chiquita to oppose this bill. Read in that article I linked to (I know, it's The Daily Beast. Just grin and bear it), and you'll see how openly callous he is.
What's funny is the fact that so many people here in the States are so very shocked at these actions. Really? Because maybe you should open up a history book and see just how much blood is soaking Chiquita Banana's hands. Maybe find out where the phrase 'Banana Republic' came from. Leftists and the workers of South and Central America have known about this for well over a century now, but to Americans it seems to be news.
