What would they be? Confine answers to things that you actually could have done differently, not magical scenarios (that could be another thread!)

maybe studied something different or at least having been quicker with finishing the stuff I study.

not having lost a close friend due to letting her down for a guy.

not having stopped doing sports when I moved away for studying. Now I'm a lazy fuck.

1. Never try or fuck with or flirt with in any way, shape or form, heroin or alcohol.
2. Not gotten myself in trouble so much, getting locked up, should have behaved myself, etc.
3. I would give my life to have been there when my other grandmother passed. It eats me up daily. Fucked thing is I had the money for a plane ticket but heroin. :crying:

Not fallen in love.

Not gotten involved in politics.

Been more conscious of my own actions and attitudes, thereby avoiding having to leave political activism.

I would've gotten my GED earlier, and gone back to school then.
Not lost contact with some friends.
Would've asked a few hot girls out, that I later learned liked me.

1. I would have dropped out

2. I would never have started dating my ex

3. I would have asked to hang out with more folks

#3 I'm still trying to grapple with but I just feel like it's too late. Today I asked to hang out with someone and they assumed I was asking them on a date and they got mad at me.

I can't tell if they were being over-assuming or if I give of some shitty vibes. Either way it makes me afraid to ask to hang out with people.

1. I should have been more social.
2. I should have never taken a break from playing the accordion.
3. I should have started reading more when I was younger.

Do people on here like reading multiple books at once or just one? I feel like I should read more than one.

1. Maybe not have been that rude when i broke up with my ex
2. Started to learn playing the guitar earlier
3. Shouldn't have been procrastinating so much, that i'm now in a hurry with my Job and University Applications

I actually do that. It's not a problem if there's not too much time between your reading sessions, because if that's the case you soon start to mix up things pretty bad and have to read the books from the start again  (Not implying that this ever happened to me at all.. *cough*)

I don't really dwell much on what I could've done better or differently anymore. And I have many regrets...lately though I've been trying to focus more on the choices I've made which I can look back on and say yeah, I definitely did the right thing there.

1. Should have taken that one extra course and gotten a Journalism minor. (Not that I want to be a journalist, just something I started and wish I'd have seen through to the end.)
2. Wouldn't have let that cop search my trunk.
3. Wouldn't have taken oxycodone when I couldn't get Vicodin for my spinal injury.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda.

1. I really should have sought help for depression and stuff before it became a massive impediment to living my life - like maybe two or three years ago.

2. I wish I'd talked to more people on my course at university, I only really got to know people in the last year or so :/

3. I wish I'd done more to combat a particularly shitty secondary-school 'friendship' back in the day, a lot of how fucked up I can be around people is down to that imo.

1. Would have been a total asshole in my teens, told my parents to f**k off and let politics take a back seat for then (rather than live up to their hopelessly high expectations of being a 'good' and 'responsible' person) and had as much fun as possible because now I realize nobody gives a sh*t about doing the wrong thing and when they do, it's because it's someone else is doing it. This thereby would have saved me from nearly six years of depression, anxiety and generalized mental illness from being waaaay to agreeable with generally unreasonable people.

2. Would have played sports, preferably some form of martial arts, so that the people who bullied me would get what they deserved and I could have defended myself (and look SO cool whilst kicking their ass), be the guy everyone wanted to be friends with and looked up to, build up confidence, have a great body, flirt all the time and have sex with lots of guys and girls [and had an actual sex education, not the ' insert dick here' biology classes that passes for sex education].

3. have focused on understanding what is going on in this country and got better informed rather than just reading about political theory. And studied politics at university, not economics.

probably way more than three in reality, but pretty good drift of what I would have wanted to do.

1. Id kill that cockroach snake fuck fake friend who raped my cousin, and beat him a little more first, instead of calling an ambulance.....

1. Never would have posted that fake story about a strike at my school(again, sorry).

2. I wouldn't have hanged out with all those dicks in middle school and should have made real friends.

3. Would have learned more about things like love and relationships, instead of being a social outcast.

Haha, seriously, it was just cringe-y. But we all make mistakes, so don't worry about it.

1. Spent more time learning my instruments
2. Got my health under control while I was a lil younger.
3. I wish I'd dropped my toxic friends years ago and not after it ruined one really great relationship.

There are a lot of things about my life that didn't go as I expected or hoped, I guess, but thinking about it I don't know if I'd change anything major. I wish I had been less afraid of being open about my sexuality when I was younger though I suppose.

Maybe somewhere there is an alternate universe where 15 year old Quail didn't go out with a manipulative rapist, and didn't then spend years destroying her body with an eating disorder, but I don't know if that Quail would have the same compassion for others or anger at a society that allowed those things to happen to her.

1. I would've gone back on ADHD medication long ago when I still could have. I feel like most of my life problems stem from this one.

2. I wish I hadn't dropped out of college. I can't say I totally regret it, but it would be slightly easier to go back now and I'd be in less debt.

3. I wish I wasn't such a cowardly introvert. If I had the self confidence and apathy I now possess when I was, say, 13 or 14, my life would probably be much, much better. I still have a long way to go, but sometimes I wish I could go back in time, seize my younger self by the shoulders and scream "what the fuck is wrong with you?".

I've probably done terrible things to people that I'd take back but I can't remember any so they must not have been that egregious. It sucks that I'm limited to three.

BONUS

4. I wouldn't have dropped over $200 on a balalaika.

EDIT: I know number three isn't really a choice but whatevs.

1. I would have spent a lot less of my free time playing video games. That time could have been better spent reading, getting high, and learning about myself. I could have prevented a lot of mistakes by taking the time to figure out everything I know now, earlier.

2. I would never have driven so many of my friends away due to unchecked mental illness and ignorance. There are good people who are no longer in my life because of my actions that I wish I still had. I would have made a lot of different choices had I known the outcome before.

3. I would have done a lot more illegal shit and have been more violent & rebellious while I was a minor and could have gotten away with it without significant repercussions.

There are others that are bigger and more personal, but I don't want to share them.

1. Would choose to punch Stephen P right in his piggy face when he bullied me and tried to side-line me at a party in Year 7.
2. Would choose to not start self-harming / cutting in college, might not have all these fucking stupid scars now.
3. Choose to start saving for a house the moment we found out we were pregnant
