I started to read it but put it away because my life is hectic right now. I was enjoying it immensely. I will pick it up again when I can. The novel depicts a fictitious Central American country called Tecan where the CIA is trying to neutralize revolutionaries. Liberation theologian nuns, priests, revolutionaries, death squads, CIA, mercenaries figure prominently throughout the novel. The country Tecan seems to be modeled on Somoza's Nicaragua. What's more is that the novel has what literary critic Harold Bloom calls "canonical status" meaning it is a classic.
