And I'm moving there in late July after my visa is processed. There is really no point to this post - just wanted to share because I'm kind of nervous about leaving the US and I've never been to Russia.

Yeah, I've been using language software and some books for about a year to try to start learning Russian. It's kind of overwhelming compared to say German.

Free Lenin from his glass cage!
And then put him on stage, propped up by strings, and do a puppet show. It's what he would have wanted.

I guess that'll stop Putin's Soviet nostalgia.

Congrats on the job man. I hope that you can meet some good old communists, and get to see Lenin soon. The funny thing is, that in all seriousness. Lenin probably would've preferred if someone "liberated" him from his "glass cage", and pranced him around as a puppet. Instead of even being put on display in the first place.
I wanna go to Russia in 2017 for the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution. I imagine the line to see Lenin will be even longer then. Hopefully I can afford to go, as that would be the perfect time to go there. If shit doesn't get worse of course. But who knows, the whole region has been fucked up on many different levels for years. That's what counterrevolution does though.
