Currently I'm getting a summer job. Upon signing paper work with my employer she told me that I'm not to discuss my wage with other workers:unsure:. Upon asking why she said "well because some don't get paid the as you."
I ask myself, is it worth unionizing just for a job I'll only have for a few months? Or am I better off feeling bitter has I work alongside my fellow workers?

Instead of creating a union try so see if there already exist established unions in your industry. It hard to get a union up and running especially if it is limited to one shop.
What is the job?

Did she only verbally say that to you - was it in writing? It is illegal for an employer to bar you from discussing your pay with other employees.

I do not recommend attempting to unionize a workplace on such short notice, nor given the fact that you'll only be there for a few months. Keep in mind that your fellow workers probably depend on this job and would not appreciate possible repercussions for union efforts while you take off after a short period of time.
Don't feel bitter - feel free to discuss your pay with your coworkers if you think it's the right thing to do. Just use your best judgement. Also, you may want to check out the IWW which is a worldwide union for all workers (full disclosure: I am a member of the IWW).

This is typical. However employees talk and they all know who does and not not make the big bucks.
If you are interested in organizing, then depending on what industry you're in will dictate which union(s) can and will represent you. It will also take longer than a few months from start to finish and will be a big struggle as management does not like the idea of unions for the most part.
But feel free to get in touch with an organizer and they'll ;ead you in the right direction.
FWIW...I'm a member of the Ironworkers union
