Hey everyone, 6th form student here doing History, Psychology and English Lit.

I live in basically the British farmland version of a "bible belt", a place full of Far Right farmers and deluded fools who go on about Poles stealing jobs, everyone in my school also tends to be from one of these Conservative families, so as a Marxist I don't exactly get on well with everyone here, it doesn't help to be Bisexual either xD. Anyway I soon hope to go on to Uni and escape this place. Also, in case anyone knows of him, Tobbinator told me of this site, when I first saw it I was put off by some things I saw, but have decided to join because I have more free time on my hands lately and do like to debate :).

I also used to be in a group called the Bread Instead of Bullets Party (BBP) under the name of "PiePower" if anyone here knows of them, I at one point was an admin but the leader went nuts and became a conspiracy-crazed neo-Nazi Stasserite, so I left.

As for political views...
I've considered myself a 'Socialist' since a young age, due to my family having a background in the NHS and despising Thatcherism, although I didn't understand it's meaning back then, I understood the meaning of equality and justice. After learning a lot about Marxism and other Leftist thought through at first Sociology (GCSE) and then further looking into Marxism on my own accord, I consider myself a Marxist. I support most (non-Totalitarian) Leftist movements in general, and believe in active movements to bring about changes in the present, as well as preparing for the future Revolutionary change. While I believe there should be stronger unity in the Left, I would specifically consider myself a 'Revolutionary Anarcho-Socialist'. I also consider myself a Secular Humanist, and I strongly believe that a Communal society is in Human nature, despite the Capitalist fabrication Human Beings are naturally purely selfish creatures.

Anyway, the main reasons I'm here are to learn more about Marxism, particularly the economic side of it as it is something I have struggled to grasp in it's complexity I will admit, and I'm also wanting to join in a few debates and discuss issues. The reason I'm here in some ways though is escapism :P, it can in be nice to meet people who have good Leftist values, and reassuring in that Capitalist-dominated world.
