Is it possible? Can we work together on issues of common interest, without being divided over "minor" (major to some, I suppose) theoretical or ideological differences? Rather than just sticking with our own group, saying "our way is the only way, so all or nothing", or something along those lines. Not to compromise on our own principles, I don't mean like that, but on the common issues to hopefully find a way to accomplish something for our cause? Or are sectarian differences here to stay? I just wish there was a way around them, at least sometimes.

yes, but this is rarely a question of ideology and it depends more on the personalities involved. it's something that can be learned,as politics- like religion- can be incredibly destructive to our relationships, particularly close ones where we are most open about our feelings.
But it does have to be a conscious decision that it is indeed worth learning because actions make a bigger difference than words or ideas. no matter what society you live in, people are going to disagree with you simply because we are separate beings and have different experiences and you still need them on your side if your to get anything done.

I actually see this as a matter of "proximity" within a given political issue / context.

For example I find myself in agreement with many radical activities on the ground since they're addressing undesired and unpleasant realities that have been instigated by the powers-that-be.

But when it comes to discussing our respective worldviews and potential ways forward, there are severe differences between the radical and revolutionary camps. (Privilege theory vs. multiple oppressions, is one.)

So, depending on the issue, support may exist in common over a broad portion of the political spectrum, but on critical issues like revolutionary theory, you should already know which way is up or else you'll simply be twisting in the wind if you're just being political without knowing why.
