I'm curious because I've seen other people here say before that when they try to read in their dreams it doesn't make sense so they realise they're dreaming, and it just came up in the episode of batman I'm watching. However... I'm pretty sure that I can read just fine when I dream, so I wondered whether it was actually something that just varies from person to person. I've had dreams where I've read something and then concluded that because I could read, I wasn't dreaming.

Sometimes I fall asleep reading and I start dreaming that I'm still reading, but the words are different. Usually it goes on a tangent from the last thought or word I read, but its still coherent. Then I wake up and realize that what I just read wasn't in the book. I'm usually still holding the book in the same position and everything. It's weird.
But yeah I can read in dreams. The words change, though. Nothing stays the same if I look at it a second time. Even the themes and ideas change as I keep reading. I only realize this once I wake up and try to remember what I was reading in the dream. I'm never aware its changing while I'm actually asleep.
I have read in dreams. I often dream about manifestos and the like.

I never paid much attention to that. I usually dream that I'm being chased by the cops for doing something really bad, like trying to blow them up or something. Then I wake up all relieved, my dreams suck sometimes.

I think this has happened to me once; (In a dream) I read something like a book or a sign and turned away and when I looked back- it said something completely different.
