Just Curious.

Lately I seem to like a lot of old goth acts, including The Sisters of Mercy, Shark Taboo, Blood & Roses, and Twisted Nerve. I was recently got into SWANS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQmlfuI2xuU) as well, which is not goth--I don't know what it is, but it's cool. Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjeeNTC6uxU) is also a favourite, and I still love Manic Street Preachers and a couple old pop acts I shall not name. That is it for music in the English language.
I like some Swedish punk, and some Spanish stuff; but my one true and eternal music-love is Japanese Visual Rock (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlhzA0YgfOs), mostly from before 2003. As for instrumental stuff, I like a bit of Beethoven, a lot of Chopin, and I wish it wasn't so difficult to sample more obscure dead European composer guys. Shamefully, certain OSTs or parts of them also enchant me, but I put this down mostly to nostalgia.

My greatest musical love is hardcore punk. To me, it's not only music, but a whole attitude I adapted from autonomous venues and the people there, concerning antifascism, antisexism, antiracism, anti-homophobia and so on.
My favorite bands from that genre are The Suicide File, Last Lights, American Nightmare, More Than Life, Disembodied, Paint it black and many, many more, the list would be endless....I also got some more melodic all time faves, like Bad Religion, Thrice, Boysetsfire, Strung Out...especially BSF really means the world to me. I also like some Singer-Songwriter stuff a lot, like Tim Barry, Jason Molina (RIP), Regina Spektor, Austin Lucas...I also like some of that post-core-blahblah, like emo (guess I'll always listen to Thursday), post-rock...and some black and death metal stuff, especially in autumn and winter.

I listen to anything as long as it is good. From Brazilian anarcho-punk to Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry, Brazilian Popular Music to RASH/SHARP Oi!, Skinhead Reggae to RAC and NWOBH... Also Nueva Canción from Chile and Cuba etc.
I won't listen to "electro putz tuntz tuntz" though, even I have standards.

Yes.
But as i said in another thread, I disregard the lyrics (which are often pathetic, when not disgusting).
Mostly Hip-Hop (hurr durr reactionary), deep-house, garage, generally electronica and since recently guitar music.

I don't remember many producers I like to listen to, haven't heard a lot of electronica recently so yeah. Horsepower prod., Pleasurekraft, the Kalkbrenners, Daniel Bortz, Zomby, Digital Mystikz and Disclosure

Mostly rock/punk in some shape or form, mostly in more obscure shapes and forms. Though I can get tired of the dudeness of both the music itself and the scene. Fave bands range from post-punk/new wave bands bordering on ska, funk etc., to really dirty and heavy punk/metal and a lot in between. Årabrot, Haust, Okkultokrati, White Lung, Gang of Four, Joy Division, Destruction Unit, The Aller Værste!, Iceage +++
Most political music suck ass.

I posted something along these lines on the group page for "Leftist Musicians," but it also serves a purpose here.
Early Rock and Roll/Doo Wop would probably be my favorite genre. I also enjoy Ragtime, Classical Music, Big Band Swing, Groovy Latin tunes, Old-school Leftist songs, and some 1990's songs for nostalgia purposes. My favorite artists would be Barry Manilow, Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, The Dell-Vikings, J.S. Bach, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Scott Joplin, Lil B, Bobby Darin, Yo-Yo Ma, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and the list of course goes on...

It's a little bit complicated for me. I essentially like a wide range of genres, and certainly wouldn't choose not to listen something because of the genre. Anything from metal to pop, depending on the artist in question.
I was essentially raised on punk. My father was in a member of various punk bands back in the early 80s, and still operates in the scene as a music journalist. As a result, the music I was exposed to as a child included the likes of Sham 96, The Toy Dolls, the Addicts, TV Smith, The Clash, as well as the much later punk stuff like Rancid, (early) Green Day, NOFX etc. This also massively shaped by worldview (and later, political views) as a child.
During my teenage years, I drifted towards metal - again, I rather eclectic range. Anything from In Flames to Dimmu Borgir to Nightwish. I eventually drifted back to punk, but can happily enjoy either of the two as long as the music is politically charged.
Of course, I grew up in the real world, so have also been exposed to most other types of music, and can enjoy pretty much anything. Even pop - I'm not ashamed to admit I like t.A.T.u, for example. Anything from Moonlight Sonata to Oasis, I guess.

I'm a turbo-nerd on music so the list is, I guess, pretty big. Don't usually go into my tastes beyond trad. metal and folk because so far there is a sum total of one person I know in real life who gives a shit about free jazz, wanky modern classical and noise. Dislike of music is usually on the basis of individual pieces of music, there are artists who are buttholes and artists with majority shit discogs who have stuff I listen to.
I think most of the stuff I'd actually call my favourites is in stupidly extreme metal, jazz for wankers and Kate Bush - so, like, Epicardioectomy, Last Days of Humanity, Mortician, Brenoritvrezorke, Mutiilation on the metal front, Peter Brotzmann, The Thing, Hamid Drake and Albert Ayler on jazz and repeat-listening to Hounds of Love

I'm a fan of most things but I tend to revolve around punk, hip-hop, reggae and ska.
The Clash, The Smiths, 10 Ft Ganja Plant, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Wu-Tang, The Skints, The Coup, Gogol Bordello, Billy Bragg, Mad Caddies, Sublime, A Tribe Called Quest, Inner Terrestrials, Rancid, The Specials... it goes on and on, but these are particularly dear to me.

Most music I listen to is Latin American. From the genres of cumbia, vallenato, onda grupera, cumbia tropical, norteñas, corridos, quebradita, banda, cumbia villera, ect...
As long as it's in Spanish and involves an accordion I can easily get into it.
Some of my favorite artists include Incomparables de Tijuana, Alegres de Teran, Raza Obrera, Rigo Tovar, Baron de Apodaca, Invasores de Nuevo Leon, Banda Astilleros, Conjunto Acapulco Tropical, Los Rehenes, Pibes Chorros, Celso Piña, Aniceto Molina, and many others.
They're not very leftist, but I grew up with this music and I don't like anything else.

I'll still throw on punk bands here and there though.

I love extreme metal, especially death metal, but I enjoy rock from 60s psychadelic to Symphonic death metal.'
My favorite bands at the moment would be Hail of Bullets, Toxic Holocaust, Black Flag, Grateful Dead, Cattle Decapitation (even though they're vegetarian hippies), and Misfits along with the constants in my musical life: Slayer, Bloodbath, Opeth, System of a Down, and Rage Against the Machine

A band I've really gotten into lately is Bal-Sagoth.
Basically, imagine a symphonic black/power metal band, whose lead singer and lyricist's vocal style can basically be divided between 'standard black metal shriek' and 'epic voice over guy' for narrative parts.
Example:

Oh, that's another thing: All of their music is based around this cycle of fantasy and sci-fi stories called 'the multiverse'. These story cycles are spread across all of their albums.
