How did you first discover this place and what keeps you coming back? (assuming you do)
I stumbled across it whilst researching British fash groups, came across a revleft thread about it via google and discovered it was one of the few sites I could freely access at work (the others being BBC, Wiki without pictures and GOV.UK).

I started lurking on here towards the end of secondary school, might've started posting during college. My first user name was pragmatic punk as punk got me into radical politics and I wasn't quite sure where I lay on the left spectrum, I was terrified that after all my griping i'd turn out to be a liberal. I use revleft to find a lot of news, also to find music and in general, as a learning resource. Revleft got me asking questions about alternative methods of socialist organisation, it also taught me the value of feminism and LGBT struggles in relation to the broader anti-capitalist movement. As online communities go it has some intelligent contributors and some nice entertaining people on here.

I was getting involved in the UK student protests, got kettled by cops, reading Adorno and Althusser, watching Latin American Third Cinema, couldn't pay my rent and needed some place to intellectually masturbate to let off steam. God, that seems like ages ago.
Lurking at Stormfront and they mentioned RevLeft.

Google brought me here, I don't remember what I was googling though. I keep coming back because Revleft is one of the few places on the internet which isn't chock a block with sexist "alpha male" children and earth-shatteringly moronic "debates".

I'd been lurking for a long time before I joined, so somewhere like between 2009 and 2011 I started lurking, but I don't entirely remember. I'm pretty sure I googled left wing internet forums to find this place, or I discovered it looking something up about Lenin or the USSR. I keep coming back because I like that there are other leftists out there and it makes me feel less politically alone. Plus I look at several members as friends :)

I haven't really been lurking consistently but if people are still doing the "Who's better: Trotsky or Stalin?" type threads then okay, maybe those type of arguments aren't exactly relevant or particularly high brow but compared to what resides in the youtube comment section or your average gaming forum it's positively enlightening discussion.

Oh God. I remember the horrible misinterpreted answers I got about radical politics from yahoo answers. People who have never read or understood the philosophies, and still talk about them like they're some sort of analyst. I wanted actual opinions and views from people who followed the philosophies, and this place was just a link away. After a few answered questions I decided "I gotta get in on this!". I am so glad I did not stick to yahoo. "Human nature makes communism impossible." " The people are simply to irresponsible to govern themselves". How can they believe such one lining crap? How can they not question this, even out of curiosity? Sure perfection is impossible, but if we don't at least strive for it, bettering ourselves in the process, what kind of piece of shit society are we heading towards?

got sick of the standard of debate in the politics section of a music forum I was on and looked for an alternative.
needless to say I didn't find it but at least I don't have to see left and right liberals arguing unless I really want to (I don't)

It's chit-chat, your rep is no good here.
I was 15 and looking up Che Guevara and I'm pretty sure at one point this website was the first result when you googled his name. As for "what keeps me coming back," I somehow feel more up-to-speed on global news when I'm at least lurking here. I think that despite whatever else you want to say about Revleft, there is a pretty good selection of perspectives that you're going to get on a lot of different relevant topics in current world affairs. History discussions, not so much, although there are still some good ones - Invader Zim and Ismail are two posters I enjoy watching debate when it comes to historical topics.

Intellectual curiosity, I suppose. That, and fascism. Seriously. I was accused enough times of being a "commie" by a couple of outright fascists back in high school that I thought "Hey, maybe there's something to this. I should at least challenge myself and see if I can understand that perspective". So naturally I went to Google, and I guess some posts from here popped up along with the Marxists Internet Archive.

I think it was maoist rebel news. I was watching YouTube videos related to communism. I eventually found his channel and a video of him complaining about the site. Then I found the "ad" made by an old user in the related videos so I decided to check it out and here I am.

I first discovered RevLeft several years ago while torrenting the Adobe Master Collection CS3 and CS4 (No fucking way I'm paying $2,700) and also remembered the "When you pirate MP3's, you're downloading Communism" poster. So while I was obtaining the supposed "Communist Editions" of Photoshop, Flash, Dreamwaver, Premiere Pro, Soundbooth, etc. a thought crossed my mind to look up something along the lines of "When you buy/pay for MP3's, you're downloading Capitalism" and one of the results indeed was just that. The image was sourced on RevLeft, though I was hardly active on the forums. I used the internet to mainly watch Youtube videos, torrent and to play on Steam/RS. Time passed and I took interest of some other things too, such as my growing anti-suburban sentiment (Strictly speaking towards the Americanized suburbs) and I found an article called "Suburbia Sucks!" also on RevLeft. I thought about joining the site but with many "last posts" being years ago, I kind of doubted there was much activity left until more recently, I pondered on actually joining the site and eventually did. I also crossed paths with a "Crabbensmasher" whom I knew from Minecraft, and didn't really expect to either. I further joined due to having moved overseas (again) and developed a further interest in left-wing thoughts.

I came here from Reddit when I was linked to Cyu's thread of pictures from this year's May Day protests. I stay because it's better'n Reddit.

I came to revleft because of I wanted to talk to people of like mind, as I knew no-one else in real life with radical views. I've stayed because I get to be more honest here and get better and more intelligent or interesting conversation than with people I know in real life and you're a pretty cool bunch of people who share similar interests and problems.
