Cheers,

I used to post here ages ago and now I'm back. Slightly subdued over the years, less adventurous but still sympathetic with the ultra-left & anarchists. I'm returning to try to figure out some of the more party oriented ideologies, particularly Maoism and perhaps its more nuanced relationship to autonomous Marxism.

Welcome back :)

Why Maoism? Arguably all Marxist currents have some notion of a 'party' although there exist quite a few big differences. Maoism seems, to me, a somewhat specific answer to third world conditions.

The US anarchist movement has become more and more obsessed with identity politics in the last few years and certain segments, consciously or unconsciously, have increasingly adopted third-worldist sympathies with nationalism. I've never liked it, but I'd like to understand better, if only to combat it.

On a personal level, I'm less involved in the anarchist movement but increasingly around the more generic Leftist/activist. I'd like to be able to interact with them without rolling my eyes or bashing my head against a wall.
