Why is it 'manly' to brutally murder another human being? It just depresses me to think about how fucked up our conceptions of 'maleness' are in society.

To be fair, out of the ten "contendants", it only mention three of them actually killing people. And even then it focuses more on the fact that they managed not to die themselves. Still pretty stupid though.

Same for surviving severe conditions or achieving high physical potential. Is a woman who survives several potentially mortal illnesses 'manly'?
I really hate the fetishizing of constructed masculinity in popular culture.
Also 5 out of 10 from this list were fighters in imperialist armies. So manly

This list is bullshit.
I nominate communer
no, I mean, I find it pathetic how all these good attributes are described as manly. And I find it annoying when feminists go like "think like a dude" or stuff. You know, don't study literature, study economy. Be reckless, be harsh and so on. I find it kinda insulting that "typically" female attitudes are equated with weakness, with not making it to the top. Or this stuff like, don't wear high heels, make up is shit, too and so on. Sometimes I get the feeling there's a feminist hierarchy with those on top that are most "masculine". This is pathetic.

The swimmer is really alright though.
I found not many of these impressive anyway... And, also, we shouldn't be conflating these feats with "manhood".
I hear that the Darwin Awards are typically dominated by young males.
