How would a truly democratic leftist society work? - it is the question that is the most significant to me.
In my opinion a socialist country should be de-centralised, as history has shown a centralised one can't develop fast enough (refering to USSR - though there were many different reasons too) and has problems deciding what people need. As socialism still has a state, it's job would be to provide a general direction for the people and move the economical structure towards communism. Industrial/agrarial production would be done communes with each of them having elected leaders, who could be replaced anytime with another election. The wages would be based on the importance or the neccesity of the job.
In communism the state has fullfilled its purpose of estabilishing a socialist society, thus the last thing it has to do is to automate the proccess of decision making based on the needs of the people - communes would have directions based on international needs, resource availability and priority elections. A group of people can form a entreprise with a goal of prodction of goods or providing some sort of service. The value of income is shared between the people of the entreprise equally (or based on the importance of the job, though I'm not entierly sure on this part).
I can't speak for anarchism, but I'd like to hear theories about how would a anarchist society work. Also I don't know how the income would be distrubuted as there are theories about abolishing money. I take book recommendations too.
