Recently, British Pathe released its entire archive footage, over 85,000 videos, onto youtube. Since it's Pathe, a lot of the voice overs are reactionary as fuck and there's shit loads of random stuff like highlights of cricket test matches but there are some gems that are interesting if only to bring imagery to some historical events. I collected some of the more interesting films so folks here could see them:
Riots in Paris, 68 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYdge-KRELY)
CND Direct Action (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi84AhM2qSo)
Lenin Speaks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49ZW1ppJxl0)
The International Confederation of Free Trade Unions, 1949 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhI5LvoWB8A)
Footage of the UK General Strike 1926 - Part 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcrQvxteO08), Part 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uClt_8vrgqY) and Part 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4QvJAcH_og).
The Defence of Madrid, Spanish Civil War (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bpLXyUhy3k)
Hungary, 1956 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsC-040vIeM)
Trotsky speaking in Mexico from Exile (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2g1yhntWgc)
It's for historical reference, mainly, as the films sometimes don't even have voice overs but if the mods think it'd be better suited in another subforum then move it by all means. Regardless, a lot of cool shit (for me anyway :P ) but if anyone else finds decent/interesting films in the Pathe archives don't hesitate to post.
