Porgy and Bess

We haven't an arts section so I'll put this here. I'm gonna go and see this "American Opera"and have heard that some feel it to be slightly racist. With songs like It Ain't Necessarily So", "Bess, You Is My Woman Now", "I Loves You, Porgy" and "I Got Plenty o' Nuttin'".* All thoughts welcome.

I've never seen the opera itself but Summertime has awesome renditions by Ella Fitzgerland/Louis Armstrong and Janis Joplin that make me want to for some time before I forget about it.
