U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch of Lauderhill attacked what he said was the Bush administration's failure to deliver health care to millions of Americans and said the escalating deficit also threatens the nation's safety.

"We can't have a strong national defense unless we have a strong economy," said Deutsch. He also said President George W. Bush and Gov. Jeb Bush were systematically destroying public education.

It's one thing to have someone like Micahe Moore or Al Franken accuse The Bush Family of being a threat to America, but when a REPUBLICAN does it...It's a whole new ballgame.

Castro is no more a threat to American safety than overipe fruit. The only thing he's done wrong is refuse to become a puppet to the United States.


He said Castro also has bioweapons and shelters international terrorists while the U.S. looks the other way.

If Cuba is a haven for Terrorists, then why do they hold their POWs in Guatanamo (sp?) Bay?

It's funny, when Kennedy tried to get the Mexican ambassador to go along with his actions against Cuba, the ambassador replied that he would like to go along with the plan, but if he announced in public that Cuba was a threat, 40 million Mexicans would die laughing. It's funny how Mexicans have more common sense than a country with "free speech." :rolleyes:

The above still applies today, the very idea that Cuba could be a threat to the U.S. is just lunacy.
