I've finally decided to join RevLeft. This is due to some wacky events.

Before then, I've been growing up in a highly conservative household, in which I was told to love god, not have sex before marriage, and so on and so forth. I never felt comfortable with this, because I am bisexual and the whole idea of a supreme dictator didn't excite me. However, my first change in beliefs didn't come from any socialist idea, but from Ayn Rand.

For some time, I was an Objectivist. I defended the free market, hated the poor, and called Obama a socialist. However, this only lasted about 3-4 months when I found the story of Louis Blanc, a French state socialist. At first, I regarded him as a scumbag of the "moocher class", but after much reading and thought, I have become a state socialist (sort of).

I am sort of a Marxist-deleonist, since I believe that reformist party measures and revolution can work hand in hand. Small firms will be collectively owned, while large companies will be managed in a sort of dual power between the state and the democratic workers assemblies. 3D printers will be subsidized by the state and given out free to every citizen in order to help local economies and production. Currency will be made up of a mix of regular money and labour vouches, which will help decrease the gap between the rich and the poor.

I am also a Keynesian (sort of) since I think that too much government intervention will crash the market (as we can see with Stalin's 5 year plan), but to little will lead to massive exploitation and a crashed market (like the Great Depression). Fixing the economy should be a dual effort between spending and workers solving problems through democratic means.

Besides all that, I also enjoy BDSM and gaming. Thanks a lot, comrades!

Welcome :)

If you have political questions, you can ask them in the Learning forum. That's why it's there after all!

If you have questions about your account, don't hesitate to send me a PM or ask here.

I suppose that you and William Morris know eachother? Anyway, I think, given your political positions, you're still only halfway there. So, if you have any questions, do ask!
