You may also want to read Hitler and Mussolini, can't hurt to know what they actually said and believed.

Gramsci also wrote a lot about fascism.

Definitely start with Trotsky on fascism! Also as per politics it depends on your leanings, are you looking for Marxism or anarchism? If anarchism I'd go here Anarchy Archives (http://dwardmac.pitzer.edu/Anarchist_Archives/) I'd say start with Bakunin :)

For anarchism, skip Bakunin- he's a terrible author. Read Berkman's ABCs of anarchist communism. It's easy to read, and tells you all you need to know and is the best summary I've ever read. For Marxism, try marxists.org (http://www.marxists.org). It's got useful introductions to the various segments of Marxism.

I wouldn't say skipping Bakunin is the best thing you can do to yourself. But a lot if what he has written kinda blows. I'd recommend "God and the State", that's his best work that I've read.
