I know I'm technically not new.
But it's been so long and some may or may not remember me and many may not have been on here when I disappeared (for lack of better words.) But I am Esperanza. I'm just gonna say (for those who don't know who I am) that I am an anarcha-feminist, a xicanista and a riot grrrl who is proud to be a badass.
I have been rooting and am back from the road and the rails. Oi!

Few things that make me so nauseous as nationalist sex-positives.

Takayuki, you make me laugh. Why does sex-positivity bother you?

I don't like people who describe their legs as a public park. I also don't like people who think other ethnicities than their own are lazy whereas your own Mexican super-race is marvellous and something to be proud of.

Compared to most Mexicans; blacks and whites aren't hard workers. Hence there are bigots claiming that Mexicans are "taking their jobs"

Which you said in a thread a long time ago. In short, I think you are a repulsive nationalist, and the sex-positivity is just the final icing on the cake. All sex is abuse.

All sex is abuse.
Apart from obviously disliking expressions of positivity towards sex, do you really think there's any reasonable basis for such sweeping statements?

Of course, I take it that this is only a rhetorical exaggeration on your part. But the form itself is confusing in fact.

Da fuck? I agree with the anti nationalism, but… Did you REALLY just say that all sex is abuse? Who the hell are you to tell people that having consensual sex is abuse? That is ignorant as fuck.

Who are you? Vicente Fox? JAJAJAJA!
Other than that welcome back and knock off the nationalism. I used to be a Mexican nationalist and now my Mexican flag hangs upside down.

Oh, my legs aren't a public park. No part of my body is a public park. My body is mine and mine only. Granted, I maybe known for saying "sure come and visit" more often (and to more people) than most and at times this was me being a push over. Also, a lot has changed since I disappeared. Personal stuff, good stuff, bad stuff, traumatic stuff, healing stuff and just insane crazy shit.

Yes I was a lot more nationalistic at that time. I'm not gonna say that I ain't proud of the background and heritage that I come from because I am. I don't believe Mexicans are a "super-race" naw we're just people. You have to understand that back then I believed in Xochiquetzal. I have turned into an anti-theist as well. I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with being proud of the history that my people have. I wouldn't expect any less of anyone else either. I am an anarchist and I oppose hierarchies, including racial hierarchy. I do however believe in justice for those groups that have been the underdogs of the hierarchies. That includes all people of color.

Why are you proud of something you didn't even choose?

Welcome back, by the way.

I am proud of the history of struggle. I'm proud of the beauty I see in the culture. This does not mean I don't see beauty in other cultures. This also doesn't mean that there aren't aspects of the culture that I am critical of. But I can be proud of something and critical of it at the same time, hell, that's how I feel about plenty of things. Such is the dualistic nature of life.

Okay, but, again, why are you proud of something that you didn't choose, let alone something that has nothing to do with your personal accomplishments?

People can be proud of their doctorate, or of the job they did raising their kids, or of the fruits of their political activity. It makes no sense to be proud of something foisted upon you by fate. It makes as much sense as being proud of being dealt a certain hand in poker.

I didn't say any of those things made me feel accomplished. I can be proud of people other than myself. I am proud of people who stand up to oppression and exploitation all around the world and all through the course of history. That is not the same as saying I somehow feel accomplished by their accomplishments. You're drawing connections that I didn't even imply.

This is what is expected of me, right? I'm hot headed and confrontational because that is what people expect from me.
