Under Stalinist nations such as the USSR people where subjected to political inequality, while under Capitalism people are subjected to economic inequality. I personaly am more intererested in fighting for social reforms than anything elce... be they from a socialist candadate or adopted by the Democrates such as FDR adopted the New Deal from SP-USA candadate Norman Thomas.

people aren't "subjected" to economic inequality in the US. How do you account for the fact that millions of immigrants have moved into positions of power in America? I account for it by accepting the truth, the American capitalist system provides for social mobility, people have relative equality of opportunity in America. Certainly the children of millionaires have an advantage in life, but that doesn't prevent middle or lower class children from becoming successful. If there are any americans on this board, trace your genealogies back, then you'll see what progress is, and why it is only possible in capitalism.

See, the simple notion that Stalin is left wing yet so is Ghandi is less left wing doesn't work.

Also refering to free markets as "free countries" doesn't explain Pinochet who justified mass murder on the basis of protecting the free market.

Right wingers who are commonly refered to as "reactionarries" doesn't explain left wing reactionarries such as Pol Pot or Robert Mugabe.

Now before anyone thinks that Left wing=Authoritarian Right Wing=Libertarian. Please take into account this diagram.

The word "Socialist" in "National Socialist" was only an election ploy and in no way had to do with their ideology... Hitler said a great deal of things to gain support... he said he was a devout Christian over and over again in many speaches... yet Christians, social democrats, socialists, communists etc where among the Jews in concentration camps.

I agree that when u analys politics , it has to be in a 3d way, such as the diagrams have shown.

One question, what if everyone is happy that they are in a authoritarian state, would that not make it a good state.
Surely an accurate way to analyse how a natoin is doing, is by the number of happy citizens.

Hitler was an extreme nationalist and a moderate on the left-right scale, yet Ho Chi Mihn and Ghandi were also to some extent nationalists yet left wingers.

Margret Thatcher was also a nationalist and on the far right.
