Swede banned from 14 countries for putting up a poster
A Swedish man has been banned from 14 countries for putting up an anti-EU poster.
Per Johansson put up the poster outside a Belgian police station.
He was expelled from Belgium and told he will not be able to travel in 13 other EU countries.
He has been banned from Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Ireland, Norway, Finland and Denmark - all members of the Schengen agreement.
Police in Brussels arrested the left-wing activist shortly before the Laeken summit as he helped friends put up the poster advertising an anti-EU meeting.
Bill posting is considered a minor crime in Scandinavia but is regarded as disturbing public order in Belgium, says the EU Observer.
Drude Dahlerup, of the Danish June Movement, has described the incident as "horrible" and says there is a complete lack of proportion between the offence and the punishment.
"I would like to invite Mr Johansson to visit me in Denmark and test if this is something the Danish responsible authorities intend to obey," she said.
