By what means is it considered "fair play" to deal with those in opposition to your position? I ask this question only because this board has been under such ridiculous and obvious interefering stupidity I cannot even begin to attempt to understand what warrants it. If anybody were to be a member of this board back in march 03 one will know what I am speaking of.

Typically, one raises a point, it is discussed, it is argued and then it is repeated. Standard debate. Typical insults are tossed around. No big fucking problem. Now, I see nothing but what I am going to phrase as the "depth grammar" tactic.

For instance, I start a thread on Stalin. Instead of debating it, somebody starts a counter thread under Stalin SUcks by Hazzie Hamster. And then pretends, when I point this out, that it is all coincidence. Word to the wise. This is not any way to prove or impress yourself upon anybody.

Now while depth grammar can be used very intelligently and elloquently and seductively at times, this sort of bullshit is just SO FUCKING STUPID. Its almost as if you see the process, cannot duplicate it, cannot immitate, cannot understand it, so you go ahead and try your own, uneductaed, idiotic version of it. You being the latest batch of board members that arrived in NOVEMBER 03. You know who you are. I don't, and I don't care to.

What I do know is that you are most unwelcome to continue in your brand of stupidity. It is unjustifiabe, and condemnable. If your hobbie is only the constant irritation of others for the sheer sake of irritation, that makes you, by design, an irritant. That is all.

This has nothing to do with the topic, but I just thought I should comment.

Hazard, you're a dipshit. Remember your little conspiracy about the U.S blaming Canada for Mad Cow so they could invade them (good god, it sounds twice as stupid the second time) ? Well, you were wrong, turns out mad cow came from Canada after all.

yes, Hazard, language games do occur, in a lot of the frameworks of political ideologies, Marxism, the New Right ideology, Liberalism. Arguments are repeated, with little progress being made, due to how parts of one theory are backed up with parts of the same theory, and definitions and meanings of words changing.

Hazard, I agree debat is often dead in OI..that is because there are no right wingers and we argue amongst ourselves. People are not likely to have developed debating tactics at the ages they access this site. They do however improve. Especially if they are encouraged to improve them.

However there are some cases in which they do not improve, and I am being a little hypocritical of my own general stance here...but I did say there are exceptions: You have not to my knowledge (I don't stalk users accussing them of being a multi user or whatever) contributed much to discussion yourself. You ***** at members, then ***** about *****ing, you have said that things have sucked since March or November or whatever, well no-one forces you to be here.

You have been on here..what 10 months? It doesn't mean you are a god, it means you have quite a lot of spare time. You have over a thousand posts, you have not published many earth shattering works, just accused many people of your crimes. Now I accept I might not be right, I cut my use from about April onwards, however I would like to have a serious debate with you to find some common ground perhaps?

I understand you will want to attack me, and that is fine, but is there any chance of seeing you really debate?
