In capitalist countries like USA, Tom Cruise, Donald Trump, Jimmy Diamond, Obama and the rich earn money for doing nothing (money for nothing), while the majority of americans have to fix refrigerators, clean floors, cook burgers at Mcdonalds, deliver pizza and still live a shitty life without Disney World, without vacation cruises, without parties, without love and without fun !!

There was a guy here, he was mexican fixing the refrigerator in my house. And we were talking about how every thing in America is getting super expensive, about how cars are being priced at 30,000 dollars, refrigerators at 1000, computers at 800 dollars, and many other basic goods and services are being literally banned from people because of their outrageous crazy prices. And how all that is leading to poverty in the majority and only a few like Donald Trump, Tom Cruise and upper middle class are being able to have live a high living standard with modern computers, new cars and great health.

And he said that the reason he loves working so much is because he wants to be part of the members of the upper classes who enjoy new cars, new computers, and luxuries.

What a stupid world this is, I thought humans were a bit smarter, how the hell can a person fixing refrigerators think that by working hard he is going to be part of the class that lives a nice life of gyms, vacation cruises, Disney World and muscular bodies

This idea is propagated by the ruling class, because only the ruling class really has access to the means of communication.

This is called false consciousness.

Intellegence does not equal conciousness. Ideals arise from our state of living and came be influenced by the prevailing ideals of the community. He may not be concious of his place in the proletariat class because the prevailing ideals of the community preach that hardwork will lead to luxuries.

Now I'm hoping that you actually talked to this man about class instead of insulting his intellegence.

Give reading The German Ideology a try. I suppose that you could read Chomsky on this subject but start with Marx.

Slavic: oh yeah you are totally 100% right. That's like using a time traveling machine and going back to the time of the Roman Empire, the Greek Empire, The Persian Empire, and the ancient chinese empire and telling poor oppressed people that the king and rulers are crazy and evil. They would all hate you and side with the kings and then both the rulers and masses will kill you. Or right now in this year traveling to Israel and telling regular israeli citizens that the Israel government is evil and shouldn't kill Palestines. Or going to any pro-Pat Robertson church and telling people that Bush, neocons and Dick Cheney are evil. Most people will hate you.

Humans are very mind-controlled by the society in which they live, by the teachers, church leaders, and authorities in which they live. Most humans are very legalists, rationalists and moralists. And only a minority are renegades

But don't worry the renegades will rule the world in the near future !!
