I assume Swedish members will give the full story soon enough but as far as I can gather there was a serious fascist attack on participants of the women's day march in Malmo.
6 people where rushed to hospital, an wel know activist from an anti-homophobia football ultra group is in live threatening condition after getting stabbed repeatedly. Tonight there will a spontaneous demonstration against the Nazi violence.

It happened after the march "take the night back"/Ta natten tillbaka (which i guess is for females only, separatist) at around 00.30. At least one of the hurt persons is a member of Everything for Everyone/Allt åt Alla, but don't know who. The person most hurt has head injuries, but his condition at the moment is stable. Hopefully, he'll make it out of this alive. That's pretty much the only official information, the rest is rumors.

Around 2000 persons got together for a demonstration today in Malmö, and tonight there's several more demonstrations in the other big cities of Sweden.

Several hospitalized after Nazi attack

Six people have been hospitalized after being attacked by knife -armed attackers in Möllevången district in Malmö. The most seriously injured , a politically committed football supporter, was on Sunday still sedated with life-threatening injuries.

Three people are on Sunday morning were arrested for attempted murder after the attack , which occurred at the intersection Kristianstadsgatan / Falsterbogatan in southeastern Malmö. According to police, the arrested was Nazis.

The attack took place at 0:30 o'clock Sunday night. At 10 o'clock feminists held a Ta natten tillbaka demonstration at the nearby Möllevångstorget .

- My friends were on their way back after the demonstration when they were attacked with knives , said a man to Sydsvenskan.

According to the man , it was a planned attack .

Three people were stabbed , one of them got a lung punctured. The most seriously injured, a young man who is very active in one of Malmö FF's supporter groups and among other things committed against homophobia in football support, is reported to have severe head injuries .

" All our thoughts and all our love today go out to our friend ," writes fan group Ultras Malmö today on his Facebook page in response to the attack. "Our platform is a place of community , where everyone with a sky blue heart are welcome. We will never accept racism and Nazism on our platform or in our city . "

Malmö FF's supporters club MFF Support is calling on their Facebook page the man " a great voice and has over the years been one of those who built up the support that today we are so proud of . "

Consistent information from people who have found themselves on the site saying that a group of at least six Nazis gone to attack. According to information provided to the worker , one of those arrested recently have been in Ukraine together with leading figures in Svenskarnas parti(a nazi party in Sweden) for the conduct of voluntary work within the Nazi-controlled self-defense groups in Kiev.

When it became known that the Swedish Nazis traveled to Ukraine Ahn - Za Hagstrom , principal analyst at Security Service , following the Swedish Radio Echo said:

- We see no increase in intention or ability to commit politically motivated crimes when they get home.

Thousands gathered on Sunday afternoon at Möllevångstorget in Malmö to mark his disgust with the attack. Demonstrations are also held in Stockholm , Gothenburg, Uppsala, Jonkoping , Gävle and Umeå during the day.

In several other places and cities nazis have been identified registering participants in demonstrations during International Women’s Day.
The seriously injured 25 year old, who is currently being cared for in a sedated state in hospital, is a leading figure in the fight against racism and homophobia in the football world, a SAC member and devoted supporter of Malmö FF. He also helped to found ”Football fans against homophobia”. Based on this, he has been recently hung out on the Swedes Party linked website ‘Realisten’.
According to witnesses at the scene, a high ranking member of the Swedes Party – Andreas Carlsson, was involved in the attempted murder. He was seen attacking feminists with a knife. Andreas Carlsson is one of the members of the Swedes Party who travelled down to Kiev as ”Ukrainafrivilliga” (Ukraine Volunteers) to support the Svoboda party’s efforts in taking power. On Realisten he has reported on the Swedish Nationalist delegation’s operation.Some of the delegations participants have stayed, according to their own reports, ”to enlist in the Ukrainian army”, while Carlsson’s group returned to Sweden only a few days before the 8th of March.
The Security Services’ (Säpo) chief analyst Ahn-Za Hagström claimed on the 8th of March that they ”see no increased intention or capability of committing politically motivated crimes when they get home.” (SR.se March 8th) That same evening the nazis attacked. Foreign Minister Carl Bildt said in a recent interview on Swedish Radio’s P1 channel that the Swedes Party’s sister party Svoboda are ”European democrats who work for values that are ours”. This minimization and normalization of fascist parties has given the Swedes Party and their ”Ukraine Volunteers” the belief that they have a free pass for their violent acts.
Not only the Security Service, but also the ordinary police have ignored the far-right violence, by depicting the murder attempt as a ”gang war” between ”opponents on opposite fringes”. This comes less than half a year after police ignored warnings that a similar nazi party, Svernska Motståndsrörelsen (The Swedish Resistance Movement), planned to attack the anti-racist demonstration in Kärrtorp.
It is abundantly clear that the fascist threat against Sweden and Europe, against individuals and social movements, is not taken seriously. Neither the government, the security services nor the police have been able to present a clear and coherent approach towards this. Fascist violence should never be reduced to youth fights or extreme phenomena, such as, Birgitta Ohlsson’s government extremist investigation. Then one misses the powerful political force that the fascist parties in Europe have become, the impetus it gives the corresponding parties at home in Sweden and ignores the seriousness of the weapons training and street fighting skills Swedish right-wing extremists have gained during his travels and visits with Jobbik in Hungary, Svoboda in Ukraine and the Golden Dawn in Greece these last few months.
Today, they stand for violence in the streets. In September, they stand for parliamentary elections.

I guess we got the answer to the question if the 'Ukrainian volunteers' will be increasingly dangerous after returning. And the article posted by svenne - very good one - is also 100% correct in it's conclusion; mainstream media, secret service and the cops have learned nothing - chosen to learn nothing - after Kärrtorp.

The nazi violence is still being ignored/belittled. The first article on this I found was again speaking of 'violence between fringe groups'. Just like when the elderly and children were attacked in Kärrtorp.

Yeah it was political activists attacked this time, but to not acknowledge that 99% of political violence in Sweden comes from the ultraright and that it really isn't a case of an equal 'give and take' situation one has to be stupid, blind - or a despicable reactionary playing in the hands of the fash.

I really hope the planned demos will gather as many as possible, and above all that this will lead to even more taking part in the long term struggle against fascism. The bourgeois institutions are impotent in the face of fascism, everything depends on us, the class conscious workers.

Ain't that the truth? The exact same thing happens in Greece, when GD members gang up en masse and beat up "undesirables", and the police watch idly. But then the anarchists throw a single bottle, and they get bludgeoned. IIRC, 30% of the Greek police forces and military are either GD members, or sympathetic to them. It's pretty sick. I suppose the same authoritarian mindset that draws them to police and military work is what also draws them to the ideas of fascism.

There is a fairly big debate going on here in Sweden, with the liberal equating of the far left with the far right being confronted even bigger than after the Kärrtorp events in mainstream media. In social democratic Aftonbladet it was for example pointed out that the nazis have murdered 14 people in the last 10 years, while the far left has killed zero and the islamists - who the secret service sees as a much bigger threat than the fash - also zero.

Foreign minister (PM of the 90s right goverment) Carl Bildt who is one of the hawks supporting EU & Nato action to defend the Ukrainian government is also being criticised for refusing to condemn Svoboda and the Right Sector taking part in it - no doubt more than otherwise due to these domestic events. I guess people being stabbed is just what it takes for these basic facts to be allowed to be pointed out. :mad:

But we can never rely on this to last, as shown by the fact that this new deed so very shortly after Kärrtorp was met with an identical initial response. Bourgeois media can not be relied to as an opinion builder agaisnt fascism at all.

What is really impressive and encouraging is that despite this systematic downplaying of the fascist threat, the anti-fascist response to the recent violence has been so massive. But now it is up to the revolutionary left to politicise this movement by pointing out the material and economic conditions behind the growth of fascism, and explaining the reasons why the liberals can not and will not take up the fight against it.

Building a grassroots movement is the only way to secure lasting gains for the anti-fascist struggle.

Adidas is by far the most popular shoe brand on the football terraces among football casuals and ultras. It would take forever to explain the history of "terrace fashion" but the picture just shows that these guys are from Malmö Ultras. It's nice to see the football fans in Sweden standing together against Fascism and Nazism.

Neo-Nazi may have fled to Ukraine

There is now an international warrant out for a Swedish neo-Nazi, who may have fled to Ukraine.
The man is suspected of murder, for an attack in Malmö in early March, when several people who had taken part in a feminist demonstration were stabbed.

"We suspect that he has gone to Ukraine, since he was there before," says police inspector Sten Ove Nilsson to TV4 News.
The suspect is a prominent figure in the neo-Nazi "Party of the Swedes", reports news agency TT. Several party members had travelled to Ukraine to support what they saw as a nationalist revolution.

A court has ordered the suspect remanded in custody in his absence. He is sought by Interpol, reports Aftonbladet.

"Yesterday after 6 weeks of neurological Department and 4 operations, I finished my intensive care.
I have now moved to a more open hospital with better conditions.
The last operation on my skull comes within a month, and the way back to a more normal everyday life will continue through in the summer.
Don't know what I would have done without all the help and sympathy that I and my family have received recently.
The road has been punctuated with massive solidarity greetings from friends, peers, football fans and especially the MFF-family.
