i saw this the other day and i have to reconmed it. its a hot-blooded yet surprisingly sensitive road trip across modern Mexico. its all about relationships and sex but then also very politcal. here's a link (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245574/) read for yourself and then go out and see it. if anyone else has seen in what did you think, what did you take from it?

ah, i hope its a start for new Mexican "sexycomedias" :)
It's become one of my favorite movies. Notice how they name the characters "Julio Zapata" and "Tenoch Iturbide", comparing their economic backgrounds with known political figures. It gives a great insight on life, relationships, and Mexico overall.

I saw it last year and I thought it was good...pretty sexual but it had a plot and it was sentimental. My favorite tho is Amores Perros....if you haven't seen it...see it

it's sad at the end they should have become friends again for the rest of their life, if it was me for instance i would have got they other guys phone number and kept in touch through college. It makes you think whether everything is just a phase (they ended up studying exactly the stuff they had hated the idea of when they were younger and whether his sister is still a political activist or has been enveloped in the adult world of capitalism like they were also it makes you think whether any friends are for life.
It also tells the story of how that fishing family were forced out of their home ( i think or fishing waters??) for a new hotel and then were refused from anywhere else to work.
There was definetely a cool political edge to the film.

In my life i think i would have tried to become friends with the other when they meet up again but i guess it's cause of loads of stuff like being gay that night before.

I was skeptical of the movie when I first heard of it quite some time ago. The title raised some questions in the"will this waste my time" part of my brain. But I saw it and actually enjoyed it. It was rather interesting. Everyone needs to see it.

definatly we have stages in our lives and good friends turn into memories. sometimes u move and dont keep contact - it might be gradual - or have a fight or just simply dont get along anymore.
its hard when mates are slipping away sometimes.

I haven't seen that movie but I know it stars Gael Bernal and I know what the plot is all about. I really want to see it though and see what's the "political" thing about it. I'd see anything with Gael in it.

Recently the director returned to Mexico for the opening of Harry Potter this summer,
many fans showed up and the press asked him how other Mexicans could follow in his footsteps,
the stuck up bastard just laughed and said if you don't have money you can't play.
anyone poor is wasting their time.
It was not the idea but the way he expressed it derisively towards his own countrymen. Many Mexicans I met in Mexico City would not go see his films afterwards because he was such a prick.
He was just like get me out of this hell hole and starring down his sunglasses at everyone like they were ridiculous. What a prick.
