Hello everyone i`m new here some things about-- i`m a student and very open minded. i am not very up to date with socialism or communism and would you guys recommend any books or any websites. Thank you.

Hello i am new to this site and would like to know if you guys recommend any areas of study for beginners and also any books. Although I might be new to this political scene I have always been interested in it. thank you.

As for recommendations, that kinda depends what you're looking for. I created a 'startup' list (http://www.revleft.com/vb/blog.php?b=7728) myself a while ago which might be helpful.

Everyone always says that the common starting point is Marx's " Communist Manifesto"

For a beginner however, I'd say your first port of call has to be Engels' "Principles of Communism", which is a lot easier to understand and divided up into subheaded sections.

For other books there is a lot of threads with books to read on this site.

However I know there is a lot of resources online, on many Marxist websites, which offer eBooks which you can read through your browser without downloading them.

But welcome to the site and feel free to pitch and messages or questions to me as I have recently settled into the forum and am beginning to start posting regularly and becoming more and more involved.
