I could have sworn this thread existed before but a forum search didn't turn anything up in the first 150 result. If I missed something feel free to direct me there.

Basically, kinda a protest 101. Of course not all protests will be the same, but the idea is so that people can kinda learn about what they might need, or maybe what's going on if shit goes down at a protest they attend.

What I recommend for a protest (kit-wise):

teargas/pepperspray protection (elaborated on in http://www.revleft.com/vb/pdfs-treating-tear-t163376/index.html) One thing I didn't notice mentioned there is gloves- they are an easy thing to forget, but they can be very nice.
Comfortable Shoes to run in (I like certain boots, as you can tuck your pants in them so pepperspray and teargas don't go up your pant legs)
Baggy Clothing can be helpful if you are going to block up.
For blocking up, any face mask, as long as it conceals as much of your face as possible- especially the area around the eyes.
Water!
Maalox/water solution

I don't have much advice other than stay within your comfort zone at your first few protests.

Anything else?

northface jackets may look cool but always best to go with a 10 euro black windbreaker that you can dump if needs be. also if people are throwing paint bombs nothing worse than getting an expensive jacket completely ruined aswell. also those jackets are easy to conceal if you need to change more than once during the day.

Something that shoudn't be in your kit: your personal cell phone, the one thats attached to an account with your name, street addreas and SSN. I'm always surprised how many people bring their cell phones. This should be common sense but leave that shit at home, they're tracking it. You know, unless you'd like a permanent record of your presence at whatever demo you're at.
