i didn't know whether this should go here or under plastic and graphic arts, but yeah i got into comics recently and i'm trying to read comics that deal with socialism or that have socialist characters/heroes. i guess you could call me a comic collectivist... haha.....

anyway, I've read v for vendetta and i'm checking out cla$$war and american terrorist, but other than that, I've got no idea. there are some individual issues of superhero comics that are kinda anti-communist, but i'm thinking about trying to grab copies of those on ebay or something like flash #51 "rage of the proletariat". i just remembered superman red son which I've got and thats cool. idk I'm mostly just doing this for kicks and i don't really care if it puts socialism in a positive light or not, but if there are some comics like v for vendetta that actually have a good leftist message, then id be interested in those as well.

There's also a wonderful comic book version of the Manifesto, made into a four part series. There are three issues printed so far.

I've also become a huge fan of the long running sci-fi comic 2000AD. Many of the strips in the comic are, if not necessarily out-and-out Marxist, have a strong anti-authoritarian tone.

Lessee, there's also Trashman, which I discussed in this thread (http://www.revleft.com/vb/trashman-agent-6th-t187018/index.html?t=187018). It's VERY explicitly leftist in its ideas, being a product of the New Left era.

And yeah, that Tintin parody comic is definitely worth the read.

I'm not sure if DMZ is necessarily leftist but it does have an antiwar/antiauthority theme throughout it. The same guy does The Massive as well which deals with former direct action environmentalists after the world's ecosystems have collapsed.

There is an Italian comic called 'Alan Ford'.
Google it, but I'm not really sure if there is an english version.
