reboots should be a thing though, just endless remakes until one makes sense and is good

I thought this one was a continuation of the one that came out around 2000, is that not the case?

god I hope not

Judging from the trailer it looks like it's received some Cloverfield influence. Although maybe that's just the imagery of the busted-up statue of liberty...

I don't think this movie has anything to do with the 90s Godzilla. They have some things in common- produced by American studios and Godzilla wrecking a city- but beyond that there's no relation between the two story wise.

Though that trailer looked pretty damn good.

I hate that every reboot has to be so fucking serious. Most of the time it just makes the thing look even less serious and just dumb and contradictory. People need to go back to learning how to make films and writing a story rather than just rehashing old ideas with modern special effects.

Don't ruin this for me guy. I used to love watching anything godzilla related as a kid and this will make my summer. Put up ya dukes.

Considering that the original 1954 film was quite dark and serious, I think it's justified this time.

This time, Godzilla wins.

First thing I thought. I liked Cloverfield.

i can no longer abide rebootsbecause they are just a grab for money unlike other Hollywood films which laboratories for the discovery of new plots, original characters, and never using tired tropes?

Almost all Shakespeare plays are reboots of Italian plays. I like reboots, just not that businessmen decide the process.

Horrible blaring electronic music seems to be the hallmark of contemporary big-budget films.
The trailer seems very cliché and suggests that the film is pure, unadulterated pabulum.

When I first heard about this movie. I was hoping it was gonna be a new Japanese one. But since it isn't, I have no interest. I want a new Japanese Godzilla movie. Whether it has subtitles, or hilariously bad English dubbing like the originals.

Unfortunately the dubbing now would probably be better.

Question is, how can a Kaiju film like Godzilla be like in a post-revolutionary society.
