<Thanks must go to "canikickit" for making all of this possible! This should be in Opposing Ideologies by now, so everyone can reply!>
I don't want to get hung up on definitions of "poor" or "middle class", I don't want people to try and differentiate between "Proletarian" and "Bourgeois" families... My idea is that this should give SOME impression of how economic circumstances affect political thought - or not, as the case may be. The statements ARE broad, yes. But try and put yourself in a category, I don't want 600 "other" answers!!!
Also, no arguements - this thread isn't for political debate, but SOCIAL debate!
Once again, everyone say <Thanks> to "canikickit" for the first poll I have seen in O.I. since I've been here!
EDIT: Oh, ARSE... Can the all-powerful "canikickit" also correct the stupid mistake I made in the options I listed? Damn, not a good start...

I can't make any more options in the poll.

Oh bugger. That ruins things somewhat.
Shall I make a new one, or just give up?

The options as they are could be alright?
Anyway, I'm off to bed. PM another moderator perhaps.

I'm left wing and from a middle class background

uh, can't you be "left wing from a poor background?"
HELLO??!!
It's "proletariat of the world unite" not "hey little rich kids, lets go play "
edit: I nulled my vote. The categories to choose from aren't specific enough.

I'm left wing, and from a somewhat... priveleged background. I know that admitting that will probably sabotage all of my arguments as long as I am on Che-Lives, but it really has affected my political views. It gives you a very clear view of the haves and the have-nots, and how the haves treat the have-nots. I hate it, and I've vowed never to be a "have," at least not in the traditional rich, spoiled sense.
Also, coming from a priveleged background can give you major opportunities. Sadly, most never take them, and end up leading mediocre lives. Hopefully, I'm not one of those people. With a priveleged background, I can go to a good school, and if I don't completely fail out of highschool, a good college, and I can get good attention for our cause, even if it does seem a bit hypocritical at times to support the Proletarian class.
Besides, I really doubt that I'll stay "priveleged" after college in any way. On my own, I have no need to be "priveleged." It bothers me anyway... It makes me wish I was less well off, but at the same time I'm greatful for what I have, and I can use it in the best ways possible.

I am leftist moderate from an immigrant working class background, there seems to be no option for that :(
On a side note, you made this far to obscure. "Left wing" can mean anything from a leftist capitalist moderate like myself to a far left communist.

You could just make another poll and get a mod to delete this one.

Most western "communists" aren't from a working class background.

Just because you don’t come from a "working class background" doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have Empathy for someone else’s conditions.

Well there wasn't even a 'working class' option. And working class could be considered 'middle class' too, it's pretty vauge.

Oh, come on... read the posts, PLEASE!!!

You can only choose 10 options; I chose 7 and only it only posted 5... THATS WHY I ADMITTED THAT IT WAS VERY BROAD AND THAT YOU SHOULD TRY TO SELECT ONE FROM THE SOMEWHAT RESTRICTED LIST!
You could just make another poll and get a mod to delete this one.
Gosh, why didn't I think of that??
I think I will; sorry chaps!

No it can't. These is a big difference between the working class and the middle class.
