I've got the opportunity to write a short essay on the communist manifesto. I find this odd and kind of daunting, because the essay is only supposed to be 1500 words and leaves no further instructions. I was a given a few quotes that are supposed to sort of guide my thesis, but they're pretty bland and vague. To be honest, whatever thesis I choose will somehow relate to them anyway.

Before you start questioning this, it is only a 1st year university assignment. It's not supposed to be a masterpiece.

I just wanted to ask for advice. Somehow, I'll have to narrow this down to some theme in the manifesto and form a coherent thesis. Of course a bit of summary is inevitable, but I need to be saying something, making some sort of original point. It would be awesome to bounce some ideas around here. Just keep in mind that what makes this hard is the word limit. If you guys think it's too hard, say so as well - The communist manifesto isn't the only choice I have to choose from for the essay.

Any ideas, no matter how vague are helpful. I'm looking for something to inspire me, make me think, etc etc.
