I'm wondering: has there been any attempt to move toward a society without scarcity? Obviously, the means of production will have to be socialized first, but beyond that stage, have there been any inklings as to how a society would move beyond scarcity? Even leaving aside the artificial scarcity that capitalism creates, there is still scarcity in natural resources.

My assumption is natural resources will be replaced with artificial and easily replenishable resources.

You may want to give this (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-Scarcity_Anarchism) book a looking over. Also his articles on social ecology might help you too. As for attempts at a post-scarcity society, idk. I'm not even sure how that could even be done given things. There is the Venus Project?

here is the book in pdf (https://libcom.org/library/post-scarcity-anarchism-murray-bookchin)
