It seems as if the government is as if the government has almost lost control. I think that the people may be willing to turn to a left wing form of government because they are seriously pissed off with the one that they have at the moment. They are in something like a $100 billion worth of debt.
Maybe Che may have his dream come true and revolution brought to his homeland?

This is all that I could find on Indy Media.
Food riots have been occurring for several months in debt-ridden Argentina (not that you would know it from the Western media). Last night, over 100,000 ordinary citizens took to the streets to protest against a government-imposed state of siege. Police repression was especially severe, with 10 protestors shot dead and hundreds beaten and tear gassed.

What a perverse thing to say, that you are proud of the dead, who are you to lay such possession on them to say they make YOU proud.
Secondly the underlying thought that I see repeated in just about every message on this thread is : "yeah, people are suffering.." and so because people suffer, "the left will gain..." You mean to tell me that left is a parasite that feeds on misfortune and only reads its ugly head in when people are desperate and in search of easy answers.
Finally you should read the western media before making assumptions about their lack of journalistic integrity. The Argentinan debt crisis has been spoken of in the NY times since early june when it was first predicted by economists.

no, the fed will simply raise interest rates, thus encouraging people to save the money by decreasing money demand. You see, that's why capitalism works buddy.

the problem with argentina is the same as the rest of the thrid world. Globilization, capital flight and capitalism as we understand it. I have written about the nature of this problem in my thread about thrid world debt and will not repeat my self here. I can only say that the goverment in fact has little or no control over the situation, it is a world problem becoz it is a world sistem. I dont see that sistem changing any time soon. However i do think in the end some kind of solution will be found to remedy the situation simply becoz it is in the interests of capitalist imperialist nations to do this. You see condictions of poverty and misery dont exist only in argentina, they exist in all third world nations, and they are caused in the intersts of the rich and capitalist, but it is also in there interests to not let those condictions become too out of hand that they cause a mass revolt or some other drastic response to an outragous situation of mass poverty. In other words they know that it is in there intrests to fead the slaves so they can continue to work for them. In this line of thought im sure something will be worked out through WTO or IMF to remedy the sistuation.

Let me follow your logic through an analogy. Yor are saying something similar to this: A doctor helps cure his patient because if he keeps him alive he can cure him again tomorrow. The IMF and World Bank are not organizations created to make money, they are created so that other people, people in third world nations, can make money, and where they have been allowed to work, Latin America for one, things are better.
Personally, it doesn't matter why the doctor cures the ailment, so long as the ailment is cured...
The thing that people should notice about the current Argentinian crisis is that it hasn't spilled over throughout the whole region. Last time Argentina was involved in a debt crisis the whole of Latin America felt it.

The media is so crap, especially the BBC, the protesters killed by shop keepers, my arse that all of them where! Ok, maybe a few from irrate shop keepers trying to protect their business but you just need to look at the pictures the media are showing and you know that the police have been the ones doing the killing. They have been beating people shitless with batons and water cannons.
Nice anologu Kamo about the BBC.

The BBC aren't as bad as CNN- Censored National News.
They are appaulling news for the brainwashed.
I saw quite a good BBC reports on the imf and Ghana last night, I can't imagine CNN or any other major news network saying what they were saying.
I do agree the media are shit still. Some just more shit than others, I suppose it's just the degree that differs.

actually if you flooded an economy with currency you would really screw it up, Fed intervention or not.
example Germany, 1924.
Because the economy got screwed the government started printing more currency.
By the end, there was no difference between 1,000,000,000 marks and 1,000,000,000,000 marks
