A British parliamentarian has been sacked as a spokesperson for her party after saying she could envisage becoming a "suicide" bomber if she were a Palestinian.

Speaking to a pro-Palestinian lobby group on Thursday, Tonge said life for Palestinians under Israeli rule could be intolerable.

"That sort of thing repeated on a daily basis made me understand how people can become suicide bombers," she said.

From what I read of that article it seems like she's not been sacked from the party but onjly as their top spokesperson.

I don't personally agree with the sacking but if I was in the party I'd probably respect the fact that such comments would damage public opinion of the party if unpunished.

she had the right to say that, she should not have been sacked/demoted
