I'm looking for some new stuff to play, what are your preferences?

I think High and Dry by Radiohead sounds really good on guitar. So does just about anything by Led Zeppelin, particularily Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and Black Dog...

Yes, for the love of Marx learn Black Dog! Heh, I love that song. Also there are several Metallica songs that are fun to play, if you care to play capitalist bands music...

Yeah, Black Dog's probably my favourite guitar song at the moment. I like how it's fast paced and you can still speed it up as much as you want without it sounding bad... the chorus anyways

Songs are often more fun in a band situation, but if you are on your own and want to pose in front of a mirror :P I find cowboys from hell is always good, fast paced riff, that is easy once your hands are used to it. Also sweet child or something if you just want to chill out to some playing, all depends on your abillity really....when I want something new to play, just put on the radio, hear the key and practice you improv. over the top of the songs and advets..great fun.

Tears in haven is amazing. If you want to play something with awkward shapes that may stretch you (in more than one way) Tears in thee Rain is not to difficult, stands alone very well and theory wise is very complexly notated..even if the rhythm is rather repetitive. It is by Satch

little wing is tough! I still can't get the hendrix version down. my favourite by far is stevie vais, though i haven't heard the eric johnson version.

Oh! if you're looking for a good challenge, I say try classical gas. There are good tabs out there if you need some help with parts of it, but it was a blast for me when i learned that song. and all "I'm on a plain" by nirvana is fun. oh oh oh! and the intro to hey joe is great!

I'm a bit of a hack on the guitar

cherub rock is one of my favourites

works just as well on acoustic as it does on electric

Start off with Plug in baby by Muse, for a bit of beginner stuff, then move straight on to Voodoo Chili by Jimi.
