View Full Version : Most Knowledgeable Members

In general, which members on this forum do you think are the most knowledgeable about politics, economics, history, etc? Who are the best debaters, or those with the most erudite understanding of the topics on this forum?
In my short time here, I've noticed three main types of members. Those who are new to socialism but generally think it's a good idea, those who have a fairly wide-ranging understanding of socialist theory and history, and those who have a comprehensive and scholarly understanding of all things revolutionary left.
Some of you guys blow my mind with the stuff you write.
No real reason for this thread aside from genuine curiosity. And I figured I'd branch out into other, less serious sub-forums on this site.

Not to say that any of you are any worse, but one of my favorites here is Remus Bleys. He definitely expropriates the cake in debating. JAJAJAJAJA!!!! He also always responds outspokenly, but while still making pretty thoughtful contributions.

Dang that was a harsh statement from schumpeter. I personally find, although i disagree with him on most topics, that #FF0000 is my favorite member so far.

Ismail, TAT, mari3l, bcbm, Quail, Psycho, Mr Pop (not calling you ice pick, I wasn't consulted plus that's be awkward considering things), then theres my main guys, mothafuckin jbeard, Taters, FF with the hi-tek theory, God damn Yuppie Grinder, and crew, are all pretty knowledgable and I love reading what they post. Even Takayuki, I love his reading his shit too.

Fuck, I could make a huge list. I think the list of those I don't think are knowledgeable would be smaller, but I won't make that one. I say you all are really :) just not the restricted members, or members who need to be restricted IMO.

The only two users I have ever really learned from are Redstar2000 and Ravachol.
Further users whose intellects I respect, but whom I don't always agree with, are aufheben, Mari3L, Psycho and bcbm.
I also like stuff Yet_Another_Boring_Marxist (corrected for spelling) and The Godless Utopian post.

I also have a lot of respect for Brutus and Bostana, who for two people so young (compared to me), are becoming proper kick-ass theoreticians.

Off the top of my head, Aufheben and The Garbage Disposal Unit seem like they know their stuff. The Godless Utopian too, I keep confusing him and TGDU.

Aufheben showcases a level of theoretical understanding that I haven't seen from anyone else on the forum. I also really like TGDU, we have our disagreements, but he's one of the only posters who I feel I can consistently engage/learn with/from. I appreciate Quail's posts alot, since they've helped change my views on lots of things in the past. Rafiq is another good poster, who whenever I come across his posts I'll read them; I'm always interested in his posts specifically dealing with ideology/materialism/etc. When it comes to philosophy and things of that nature, L.A.P. knows his stuff, as well as admiral swagmeister g funk. I've always been a fan of Q as well. Hmm those are the ones coming to mind at the moment, but I guarantee I'm forgetting some. Most of the best posters over the years are gone. Despite whatever disagreements/issues I had with them, I also always enjoyed/learned from, Ostrinski, Grenzer, Fred, etc.

Yep, pretty much.
That 20,000 doesn't even include my chit-chat posts  Which, let's face it, are probably double that.

I haven't been on here in years, but syndicat's posts always stood out for me a lot. Absolut, whenever he does post. Forward Union helped me in a handful of topics. I think Os Canagceiros use to go by another name, and I enjoyed his posts... I think he was the one well-versed in a lot of different, unique anarchists and stuff? So many of you changed names, or got banned, it's hard to remember.
#FF0000 or whoever knows how to throw out some dope arguments.
Okay, clearly I shouldn't be posting here until my mind gets refreshed.
Oh, and a crap ton of banned users.

There are plenty more I'm sure, but off the top of my head:
TGDU is someone I really respect and enjoy their contributions -- maybe even moreso when I disagree:lol:
Blake's Baby has a good understanding of a whole range of various theoretical viewpoints.
I really appreciate Blake 3:17's practical knowledge and knowledge of leftist scenes and tendencies.

I'm not really an anarchist, but you're right, they probably don't. They would spend twelve hours discussing which consensus process they were going to use, then spend a further seven hours discussing how the meeting will run and forming an agenda, which will take a further six hours to be agreed upon. Then a further fifteen hours will be used listening to hippies say the same thing over and over again; someone will be persecuted for daring to suggest we expedite a decision. Then someone who just came into the meeting and has absolutely no idea what is going on will get all pious about the fact the safe-spaces policy isn't being adhered to and that all the Left-Communists should be given their own working group to work through their issues, leading to half of the group suddenly realising they agree with this and a further eight hours is wasted discussing how best to facilitate the working group/safe space for the Left-Communists, at which point some punk will vomit into the middle of the room because he's been drinking for the last two days, and who can blame him; a group of environmentalists will break away because killing people isn't vegan, followed by something mind-bogglingly ridiculous happening that requires the "facilitator" to spend another three hours going over the consensus process just so everyone is aware, even though know one really cares, they just like to say they do; the vegan kitchen won't have made enough food, which will cause some trustafarian to berate the poor women who've spent all day cooking, and then everyone will suddenly self-combust because the methane build up in their guts grew to a fatal level due to the compost toilet filling up in the first hour and there being no where to defecate, because actual, real toilets are oppressive.

There are a lot of people whose posts I appreciate, and some people on here genuinely come across as ridiculously, maybe impossibly knowledgeable. My mind goes blank when I try to make a list though.

Blake's baby and Quail say good agreeable things politely.
Rafiq and Takayuki are above debate! I can't remember anyone else whose posts I like a lot. #FF0000 gets an honourable mention, though excludes himself from being a true favourite due to such transgressions against good taste as "hella" and "dawg".

Yeah it's weird. At the time of writing I have 367 posts but 429 thanked posts.
I like Blake's baby, Rafiq, #FF0000, Remus Bleys, Vox Populi, TGDU, TAT (sometimes), etc...

Quail's posts often make the most sense from a human perspective. Blake's Baby is very knowledgeable on a wide range of issues. I enjoy bcbm and mariel's posts sometimes too.
I have to say there are a lot less users these days whose posts I find interesting than a few years ago, but it's good to see new posters coming through too :)
