David Bowie's teeth gave us all of his great dental consonants, like the 'n' and 'd' in Under Pressure.

I genuinely don't know. Have heard his name before though.

EDIT: Ah, now I know where I heard his name. He's an agnostic married to a Muslim, which I looked up for reasons Vox knows. How coincidental.

I always like seeing musicians with less-than-perfect teeth. I noticed the guy from Muse doesn't have great teeth either.

I've heard that it's kind of a British cultural thing to place less of an emphasis on teeth. Power to them. At the same time, they have actually better dental hygiene than most other developed countries; just less preoccupation with perfectly straight teeth.

Hah, I wish my country was more forgiving. We all want to look like celebrities. Like come on, embrace a few flaws, eh?

Freddy Mercury had a notoriously large overbite. He never had it fixed because he thought it would effect his singing voice.

I never thought of this come to think of it the impact of teeth and singing.

Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like with no teeth? Weird

There's nothing more repulsive than overly whitened even-lined teeth-brace assisted abomination. Teeth should be jutting in all directions and be unevenly proportioned.

Teeth don't matter to me, it bothers me when people have teeth so damn white they freaking glow.... My teeth are pretty bad, and it's because I had braces insisted upon me

I think good dental hygiene is appreciated across the board the straightness being relative.

I used to have good teeth when I was younger, but now I have no enamel and they look really bad. The backs are all brown where the enamel is gone and they kind of hurt. The dentist said if they got any worse they'd have to put white fillings over all of them. Could be worse though I guess. I still avoid showing them when people are taking photos though.

I'm lucky enough to have really straight, even teeth. Still haven't had a filling or anything yet, although my teeth are stained a rather fetching shade of old ivory by all the tea, coffee and red wine I drink.

My top canines sit further forward than the rest of my teeth, making me look as if I have fangs. I have amalgam fillings on my lower premolars/molars and and a dental crown on a lower left molar, as well as coloured fillings on my upper incisors (largely at the back of the teeth), the leftmost of which is also reinforced with a small metal rod on the inside. All done on the NHS, for which I am damn grateful.

The weird thing is that got all of this work done after I started brushing my teeth more regularly. What the fuck's up with that?!

Also, eating chocolate can be fucking agony, so I tend to suck it rather than chew.

I think Bowie's teeth were never crooked enough. Curse image-obsessed pop stardom.

My own teeth are straighter than I'd like. They are a bit discoloured from the tides of coffee over the years, and when I was little I used to eat a lot of that horrid chewy candy which resulted in a yawning cavity which takes up about half of one of my molars, which really ought to be pulled, but it hasn't, and I am 24 now. Fortunately it doesn't hurt. A particularly forgiving estimate of the average frequency with which I brush my teeth would be: once every other day.

Let us get off the subject of decay, however, and back to alignment. Crooked teeth are wonderful and medically unnecessary straightening is totes bourgeois.

My top row of teeth are pretty straight, my bottom row is pretty fucked up though. I don't like it (although it's pretty low on the list of "things i'd change about myself"). If I had a ton of expendable income I'd probably get one of my lower teeth removed so that the others could be re-arraigned properly.

The grill is fine but what's up with the power dot between the eyes?? The dental powers of Vishnu? O.K. I'll be keeping tabs on this as it unfolds.
